This is what the next-gen Hyundai Sonata looks like
Photos showing the body and interior of the new Hyundai Sonata have become available recently. Let us give it a closer look.
Apparently, the car sports a new taillight design with a LED strip connecting the left and the right side. The headlights are elongated and slightly ‘squinted’, while the fog lights are boomerang-shaped. The radiator grille sports large horizontal fins and looks massive.
The interior photos available so far attract attention to a new button-based gear selector found on the center tunnel.
According to Hyundai chief designer, the upcoming Sonata update will impress the audience no less than the current model did when it debuted in 2011. Reportedly, the design of the vehicle will also be partly inspired by the Le Fil Rouge Concept that debuted last year.
Once out on the market, the car will mainly ship with a 2.5-liter GDi engine. Other options will include soft hybrids, plug-in hybrids, and a performance version rated at around 280 hp (209 kW).
