New Audi e-tron espied during wintertime road trials

Car spotters have managed to acquire photos of a mysterious new Audi e-tron test mule as it rolled along wintery roads of northern Europe. This has led industry observers to speculate that the German car giant is getting two new cars ready for premiere.

It seems fairly reasonable for Audi to release an all-electric SUV called something like “e-tron Allroad” along with a performance EV.

As you can see, the test mule had its entire front, rear, side sills and fenders wrapped in camo film. The only hint to its true nature came in the form of a relatively low ground clearance, which leads us to assume that what we are dealing with here is a range-topping EV.

In an earlier news, Audi reported that a modified version of its e-tron SUV – packing an extra engine along with a number of further technical upgrades – had managed to ascend a sheer mountain face at a ski resort. The vehicle had almost 500 horsepower (447 kilowatts) sourced from three electric motors at its disposal.
