Ferrari has told us some new details concerning its soon-to-come F8 Tributo supercar. In particular, it highlighted that the vehicle takes some of its tech directly from professional racing sports – of, more specifically, the Formula One series.
The F8 Tributo sports a flat bottom part with a custom-tailored rear diffuser sending more air towards the brakes. It also features a rear wing with a relatively steep inclination angle.
The front bumper houses what the company calls the S-Duct, an S-shaped air duct that shapes the air stream into a manageable flow and sends it to the rear aero kit, thus producing strong vertical downforce. It is believed that the S-Duct is a more modern version of a similar part found on the F1 racecar Ferrari F2008.
Among other things, the aerodynamic package of the Tributo includes a second diffuser with adjustable flaps, rear air intakes and a whole system of radiators.
The new two-door vehicle should become the de-facto replacement for the 488 GTB model, compared to which it exerts 10% less aerodynamic drag.
