The extreme GT-R Nismo just got even more radical

Nissan has exhibited a facelifted version of its GT-R Nismo supercar at the 2019 Auto Show in New York, USA. The already extreme ride has received a number of chassis and transmission enhancements.

Even though the 3.8-liter V6 engine remains stock with 600 hp / 447 kW and 652 Nm / 480 lbft of torque at its disposal, it now boasts new turbine chargers fitted with turbines having fewer blades than before. It also takes advantage of an improved transmission design that reportedly reacts faster when the driving mode changes and has a new, better ‘R’ mode.

The entire outer body of the car now consists of pure carbon, resulting in the new Gt-R Nismo weighing in at 30 kg (66 lbs) under its predecessor. The carbon bodywork should also improve the overall aerodynamic performance of the vehicle.

To guarantee the most engaging driving experience possible, the manufacturer has also made some tweaks in the handling, suspension, brakes, and topped things up with a new wheel set wrapped in Dunlop tires.
