WIP: Hennessey Venom F5 production hypercar

The Hennessey Venom F5 Concept debuted in late 2017, but the manufacturer still hasn’t shown us the final production version of the hypercar. As it turned out today, however, the company never forgot its promise and is currently working to bring the F5 to the masses.

While the original Venom GT is a Lotus vehicle at heart, the F5 boasts an extremely light but durable custom carbon chassis and can be personalized in almost every way imaginable, Hennessey claims.

The production vehicle will hit the market armed with a 7.6-liter twin-turbo V8 exceeding 1,600 hp (1,200 kW) and 1,760 Nm (1,300 lb×ft) of torque. This sounds pretty damn fantastic, right until you remember that the concept car initially had 2,000+ hp (1,500 kW+).

Hennessey plans to make its new F5 go faster than 482 km/h (300 miles per hour) and even hit the 500 km/h (311 mph) mark if it turns out at all possible. As for the acceleration times, the company ambitiously claims its hypercar will be able to zap from zero to 300 km/h (186 mph) in under 10 seconds.
