Porsche 935 gets reincarnated in 77 units sporting 7 classical liveries

Porsche has launched production of its revived 935 racecar series. The batch ocnsists of only 77 vehicles priced at €702,000 each, and those quick enough to make an early pre-order can expect to get their ride as early as this June.

The series features an exclusive design by Grant Larson and ships in seven different paints inspired by liveries of award-winning classical Porsche racecars. Two examples would be the Porsche Salzburg Team and the Kremer Racing liveries. The former is the name of the racing team that drove Porsche to victory at the 1970 24 Hours of Le Mans. The latter team won the same endurance race in 1979.

The modern reimagination of the Porsche 935 comes based on the 911 GT2 RS chassis and tech. It boasts all-carbon bodywork inspired by the Le Mans-winning 935/78 Moby Dick. The cockpit is laid out like in the Porsche 917.

Powering the series is a 3.8-liter twin-turbo boxer engine rated at 700 hp (522 kW) and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) of torque, which is all the more impressive if you consider that the car weighs in at just 1,380 kilos (~3,000 lbs).
