2020 BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe exterior and cabin leak in spy photos

The 2020 facelift version of the BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe won’t debut until the end of the month, but our colleagues in espionage have already tracked down a copy and made a few shots so that we could look at it ahead of the formal reveal.

Starting at the front end, the headlights and radiator grille are familiar BMW fare, and the front fenders now have massive air louvers. Other immediately noticeable features include sporty side overhangs, slanted roof, narrow brake lights, an integrated rear spoiler, and a dual-pipe exhaust system.

Moving on inside, a number of light-colored interior trim elements are juxtaposed against darker elements such as the seat backs, the dashboard etc. As far as the equipment is concerned, it would be logical to expect the 2020 BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe to ship with a 12.3-inch instrument panel, a three-section steering wheel, and a multimedia system with a 10.25-inch touchscreen display.

The engine range will likely be the same as for the regular coupe and convertible. This means a choice between a 3.0-liter, six-cylinder diesel rated at 320 hp (239 kW) and 680 Nm (502 lb×ft) of torque and a gasoline-chugging V8 producing 530 hp (395 kW) along with 750 Nm (553 lb×ft) of torque. An M variant will be released at a later date, likely coming with 600 and 617 hp (447 and 460 kW) to choose between.
