ECD rolls out the unique Land Rover Defender Project Neo

As you probably know, U.S.-based car company East Coast Defender (ECD) limits its specialization to restoring and modding classical Defender SUVs. In fact, it just released another such vehicle, so let us take a closer look.

At its heart, the so-called ECD Project Neo is a Vulkan Grey Pearl Defender 110 fitted with an external roll cage, robust stainless-steel bumpers, new side steps, a winch, and protection for the rear windows and the lower chassis.

The one-off Defender ditches its factory wheels in favor of a set of 20-inch Kahn Mondial Retro rims wrapped in 32-inch BF Goodrich All-Terrain tires and sitting in flared arches. It also rides on Fox suspension components and makes use of a Borla exhaust system.

Interior changes are no less profound. There are two rows of sports seats with heating and ventilation features, a Momo steering wheel, a JL Audio speaker set, a reversing camera, a wireless smartphone charger and countless other modern bits of equipment. Oh, and if you need to accommodate extra passengers in an emergency, there are two jump seats in the trunk area.

Powering the bespoke ECD Defender 110 Project Neo is a brand-new 6.2-liter Chevrolet LS3 V8 engine rated at 565 hp (421 kW), which links to a six-speed automatic gearbox.

The price remains unannounced, but you can safely expect it to lie well within the six-digit US dollar range.
