Range Rover’s next e-SUV spied testing

Jaguar Land Rover has proceeded to testing its next battery-electric crossover SUV. Based on these spy shots posted on Carscoops, it will look unlike anything the company has released before. The production start date is penciled in for the second half of 2025.

It’s possible that the SUV seen here is envisioned as a successor to the Range Rover Velar (see video). It does look similar to that model with its unusually long, squat body shape, long hood and large rear overhang. It seems to be a car designed for the asphalt, too; JLR had promised us before that its next flagship would be a serious off-roader, so this is probably not it.

The camo is thick enough to conceal all minor details, but there is no missing the unusual roof moldings next to the bulging tailgate and the company’s signature roof fin. Both might be there just for show, but Carscoops believes they could be concealing self-driving sensors or cameras. As for the bulky rear end, it could mean that the car is a seven-seater by default.
