Beefed-up Lexus LBX may reach production

Toyota Australia has just announced that a compact-sized crossover based on the Lexus LBX Morizo RR Concept shown at the beginning of the year has solid chances to make it to the mass market.

You can find the concept car in the gallery and the video here. When it debuted, it utilized the same powertrain as the GR Yaris hatchback: a 1.6-liter three-cylinder engine mated to all four wheels via an 8AT.

The company has now confirmed that there are no technical hurdles to produce the powered-up LBX.
