Geely Galaxy Starship takes power seat tech to a new level with a mobile seat

Geely has posted new photos of its extravagant Galaxy Starship Concept that premiered at Auto China this year. It is scheduled for market release in 2025, so let’s dive into the details.

The main goal of the premiere was to introduce the public to an innovative electric car platform named GEA, which stands for Geely Electric Architecture. Rather than being an all-new development, though, it is an evolutionary step forward from the company’s SEA chassis.

Aside from that, the show car packed the latest generation of the company’s NordThor hybrid powertrain. It is said to be extremely fuel-efficient at roughly two liters of petrol per 100 km (that’s 117.6 miles per U.S. gallon) and around 2,000 km (1,242 miles) of range with a full tank.

Another highlight is a new multimedia system running on a Snapdragon 8295 chipset and Geely’s own operating system. The most unexpected feature, however, comes in the form of a motorized driver’s seat that you can take out of the car and ride as a standalone means of individual transportation.
