Chery-owned car brand Exeed is getting ready to launch its Sterra E05 crossover (exported as the Exlantix E05). We’ve already seen its exterior, and AutoHome.cn has now got its hands on some cabin shots as well.
It looks like a trio of displays on the dash is the biggest highlight of the model. There’s a large, independent infotainment screen in the middle surrounded by two same-looking, smaller displays for the driver and the front passenger. It’s the first time we are seeing such a display arrangement in a car, but it looks nice and symmetrical.
The steering wheel is also not something we’d expect to see in a Sterra/Exlantix, while the transmission tunnel looks more or less standard. If you neglect the larger cup holders, it looks identical to that of the Exlantis ES sedan.
The only other spy photo available shows the rear bench seat. It appears to be meant for only two passengers by design, but has plenty of legroom for taller people. That’s about it for the details.
Rumor has it the E05 shares the platform with the Exeed TXL. We hear that it is 4,780 mm (186.7 inches) long with 2,800 mm (109.4 inches) between the axles and a serial-hybrid powertrain under the hood. Once fully charged, the car can run on electricity alone for 165 km (102 miles), anonymous sources claim.
For its own part, Chery promises to offer the E05 outside of China, marketing it as the first Exeed model to benefit from the Horizon Super Driving package powered by Journey 6P hardware.
