Land Rover Defender gets the ultimate diesel edition, more trim options

Land Rover has expanded the list of available accessories for its Defender lineup, adding new options for nearly every version of the off-roader.

The Land Rover Defender 110 Sedona Edition owes its name to the town of Sedona, Arizona, that’s famous for its unusual red rocks. It wears a paintjob inspired by the color of those rocks and has some original body graphics, too. It also features an exterior toolbox mounted at the right-hand side and a special interior trim scheme.

The Defender 130 (watch the video for a stock version of it) is moving upmarket in this update. Land Rover had only offered it as an eight-seater so far, but the new version ditches the middle-row sofa for two separate captain’s seats complete with comfy head- and armrests, ventilation, and heating. The spacing between the rows is liberal enough to let the middle passenger in the back row to stretch their legs fully.

All Defender variants are now eligible for an optional package called the Signature Interior Pack. It replaces the seats with particularly comfortable, 14-way-adjustable ones, upgrades the trimming materials while introducing new color options, and add minor quality-of-life things like a more ergonomic side pocket in the center console.

The old D300 diesel spec officially retires, replaced with a new one known as the D350. It makes 350 PS (345 hp / 257 kW) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque from the same three liters of displacement. That’s 50 horsepower (37 kilowatts) and 50 Newton-meters (37 pound-feet) more than the D300 could manage. Land Rover doesn’t quote any acceleration times, though.
