New Chery Tiggo 7 arrives in China

Chery has begun selling the facelifted Tiggo 7 on its domestic market. Although advertised as the next generation, it’s basically the same SUV with new looks and a refreshed interior. Prices range from 74,900 to 96,900 Yuan.

On the outside, the car sports a new bumper with diagonal vent inserts and a reshaped radiator grille. The headlights stay the same.

Inside, the main novelty comes in the form of a single display unit composed of two 12.3-inch panels (the old version had two standalone displays for the dash and the infotainment). The physical buttons, the climate vents and the center tunnel have all been reworked, and the buyers can now opt for a new trim scheme with brown as the dominant color.

Chery also mentions a range of improvements in the driving assist systems. The main camera has been upgraded, and the same goes for the three optional ultrasonic radars. Noise and vibration proofing has become more efficient.

Things stay stock under the hood. In China, the Tiggo 7 ships with a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine linked to either a manual transmission or a CVT. The output amounts to 156 PS (154 hp / 115 kW) in both cases.
