Jeep Recon EV: Off-Road Electric SUV Details Emerge

The 2026 Jeep Recon EV is set to join the brand's electric lineup as a mid-size SUV, sharing its STLA-Large unibody platform with the Wagoneer S. This model combines electric propulsion with off-road capabilities, featuring a design inspired by the Wrangler, including an available power-folding roof and removable doors.

The Recon EV is equipped with two electric drive motors, delivering a combined output of 650 horsepower and 620 pound-feet of torque. It includes standard all-wheel drive, an electric locking differential, 9.1 inches of ground clearance, and a Select-Terrain traction management system. The initial Moab trim is powered by a 100.5-kWh battery pack, offering an estimated 222 miles of all-electric range, with future trims reportedly targeting 250 miles. The vehicle uses a 400-volt electric architecture, supporting DC fast charging from 20% to 80% in approximately 28 minutes.

Jeep claims the Recon EV will have a towing capacity of up to 3300 pounds when fitted with the Trailer Tow Group package. The launch model, likely a Moab trim, is anticipated to be priced near the higher end of the Recon EV's eventual trim hierarchy, with an initial price point of $69,585. The Recon EV is positioned as the brand's first electric vehicle to blend its known off-road prowess with electric power.
