Kia EV4 bows ahead of Spain premiere

Kia plans a big reveal of its next-generation electric car lineup in Spain on February 27th. In the meantime, you can take a look at the impending EV4 model.

The Kia EV4 debuted as a sedan-shaped concept in October last year, but the latest bunch of images shows it with a five-door hatchback body style as well. The sedan looks almost completely identical to its prototype – same slanted roofline, same body outlines, a built-in rear spoiler and Kia’s signature headlights and rear fenders.

The hatchback looks largely the same from the front end, but features an all-new rear end with Y-shaped taillights, original c-pillars and a classical hinged tailgate.

Judging by the images alone, the EV4 will be offered in a premium trim called GT-Line. It sports distinct bumpers and 19-inch forged wheels, among other things. The interior remains to be revealed.

Back in October, Kia promised us a single electric motor rated at 204 PS (201 hp / 150 kW) and an 82-kWh battery pack. Note that these numbers weren’t final, and they haven’t been mentioned again.
