KTM X-Bow GT-XA Model Aims for US Street Legalization

The KTM X-Bow line, previously available in the US only as a track-day vehicle, is under new ownership. The new owners are reportedly working to introduce a new model, the GT-XA, which could be street-legal in the United States.

The GT-XA is described as having a canopy roof that lifts from a forward hinge for entry and exit, differing from the open-topped design of past X-Bow models. The car features an Audi-sourced five-cylinder engine. While the exact power output for the GT-XA has not been specified, a model announced for other markets, the GT-XR, produces 584 horsepower from its five-cylinder engine. The X-Bow's construction emphasizes lightweight carbon.

KTM X-Bow's American partner, Carbon Yard, is reportedly working towards US street legalization for the vehicle. Reservations for the GT-XA are currently open with a $50,000 deposit, which is fully refundable until the vehicle receives approval. The anticipated starting MSRP is stated to be $490,000 and under.
