Six-year-long Porsche 911 Carrera RSR restomod project finally reaches completion

Six years ago, Emory Motorsports Inc. began working on restoring and modernizing a 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RSR. The project was later handed over to wheel manufacturer Momo. A few days ago, the latter finally rolled the car out of the garage – and we have to admit, this is one hell of a job well done!

The retro sports car now packs a 2.4-liter opposite-four Emory Rothsport engine fitted with dual turbine chargers. Depending on the generated pressure, the output can vary between 325 and 375 hp (242 – 280 kW).

The tuner installed independent suspension on all wheels and replaced most antiquated parts with their up-to-date Porsche counterparts. Eisenlohr Racing provided both axles, and Tarrett Engineering delivered the roll stabilizers.

Among other things, the tuner equipped its Carrera with high-end Brembo brakes and a set of ultralight, 17-inch Momo Hertiage 5 forged rims wrapped in Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R Motorsport performance rubber.

The body of the vintage coupe has been re-done from scratch using aluminum and stainless steel, and the windows are plastic/polycarbonate, rather than glass.

The cabin of the unique Porsche 356 RSR Outlaw Coupe by Emory & Momo houses a sports steering wheel, a Rothsport gear selector, fiberglass bucket seats wrapped in fabric, and a stout bolt-on roll cage.
