Faraday Future promises cheap EVs for everyone, needs more funding

The much-troubled automotive startup known as Faraday Future introduced itself to the industry in early 2017, but hadn’t released a single EV until a few years ago due to ongoing financial difficulties.

According to unofficial reports, the company’s only vehicle so far – the FF91 – has only been produced in a dozen units thus far, most of them delivered to the investors. Despite that, the struggling automaker insists on continuing operation. It announced a couple of new EVs this weekend that may become bestsellers.

This proposed new lineup is called Faraday X (or FX for short) and consists of two vehicles. The FX 5 is envisioned as a highly affordable electric car priced between U.S. $20,000 and $30,000, while the FX 6 strikes closer to the premium segment with a price range of $30,000–50,000.

The caveat? As usual, Faraday Future won’t be able to begin production until it secures enough funding.
