EarthRoamer rolls out a luxury motorhome on Chevy Silverado 5500 chassis

Camvan specialist EarthRoamer has attended this year’s SEMA show with multiple worthwhile exhibits (see video), but one example caught our attention in particular. Dubbed the SX, it starts just under a million USD.

In terms of design and features, the model resembled the EarthRoamer LTi, but while that one utilized the Ford F-550 basis, the newcomer benefits from a transition to the Chevrolet Silverado 5500 platform. Armed with a 6.6-liter Duramax diesel, the car sends 350 PS (345 hp / 257 kW) to the wheels along with 950 Nm (701 lb-ft) of torque.

The main module comes manufactured from carbon fiber and offers everything necessary for up to six permanent residents. Most of the power is supplied by an 18-kWh battery and a 1600W solar panel array. To maximize range and ensure the power never runs out, there are dual diesel tanks on board summing up to 757 liters (200 U.S. gallons).

In addition to six comfortable beds, the motorhome offers a spacious dining area, a fully featured kitchen, a shower cabin with a cassette WC and a plumbing system based on multiple fresh and used water tanks. Storage cabinets and drawers can be found throughout, and paying extra nets you a washing machine complete with a dryer.

Regardless of your chosen trim options, the EarthRoamer SX comes equipped with 43-inch (109-cm) all-terrain tires and has all-wheel drive, meaning it can easily traverse country roads and even find its way around much of the wilderness.

Prices start at U.S. $995,000 and go up to $1,100,000 or so with all the options in the list ticked.
