Leaked: 2025 Hyundai Palisade loses diesel, goes hybrid

Hyundai has yet to disclose the specifications of its next-generation Palisade SUV, but an alleged leak sheds some light on the lineup, KoreanCarBlog claims.

If the reports are true, the new Palisade is slightly longer than the old generation at 5,050 mm (197.3 inches). It also gets 70 mm (2.7 inches) of extra wheelbase, for a total of 2,970 mm (116 inches). The proportions look different, too, with the front overhang being noticeably shorter and the rear overhang a fair bit longer. Reportedly, the company is going for a more “noble” and “dignified” look here. The platform stays the same.

The currently available 3.8-liter diesel V6 is no longer on the list, but sources say it may get replaced with a more efficient 3.5-liter mill rated at 280 PS (276 hp / 206 kW). Another option comes in the form of a 2.5-liter turbo rated at 290 PS (286 hp / 213 kW).

Last but not least, there will be a hybrid powertrain option with a 2.5-liter engine at its base, 335 PS (330 hp / 246 kW), and up to 1,020 km (633 miles) of range. The latter is especially nice, since the ICE-only Palisade variants don’t cover much more than 700 km (435 miles) per tank.

In South Korea, the SUV is expected to cost from 42.5 million KRW. This translates into U.S. $29,600. The current generation starts from 38.96 million KRW, or $27,000. Customers in Korea will get it in early 2025, while all other countries will have to wait a few months for the exports to begin.
