Hengchi 1 EV goes into test production

The nature-friendly automotive brand Hengchi debuted in August 2020 with as many as six concept cars on display. The first of them – the flagship D-Class saloon called the Hengchi 1 – entered production earlier this week with the first test batch.

Based on the images thus far revealed, the car looks exactly like its concept version and features pop-out doors, slim cameras instead of side mirrors, and LED lighting throughout. The charging port sits on the front left fender.

The pricing is preliminary at this time. The company reports that all Luxury-class EVs will be priced from 250,000 Yuan (around 38,000 USD), the Super Luxury ones from 500,000 Yuan (76,000 USD) and the Flagship ones – like this one – even higher than that.
