Brabus rips off covers off its long-anticipated Bodo GT

The ultra-deluxe Brabus Bodo supercar pays homage to the company’s late founder, Bodo Buschmann, and is bound to the global market in a production run of 77 units, referencing the tuning company’s year of establishment: 1977.

Although the company refuses to name the donor vehicle outright, it’s pretty obvious that the Bodo has Aston Martin Vanquish underpinnings. It combines elegant British styling cues with American and German ones. For instance, the front end looks simultaneously inspired by the Ford Mustang RTR and the Mercedes-Maybach 6 Concept. The body is trimmed with carbon fiber and rides on 21-inch wheels shod in Continental SportContact 7 Force tires. According to the tuner, this tire model is a bespoke development for the project, so don’t go looking for it in auto shops.

On the outside, the Bodo stretches 5,062 millimeters (199.3 inches) long, 2,027 mm (79.8 in) wide and 1,305 mm (51.4 mm tall). This makes it much longer and wider than the Vanquish. Still, a single glance at the interior is enough to realize what the donor car is. It’s very similar to the Aston Martin there, although the dashboard, the climate vents and the steering wheel are either new or modified. The wheel is also trimmed with carbon and flaunts the tuner’s “B” logo on the hubcap.

Power for the Bodo comes from a familiar 5.2-liter V12 twin-turbocharged to deliver 1,000 PS (986 hp / 735 kW) and 1,200 Nm (885 lb-ft) of torque. For comparison, the Vanquish is good for 835 PS (824 hp / 614 kW) and 1,000 Nm (738 lb-ft) of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission conveys the momentum, taking the GT from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in three seconds flat and to a breakneck top speed of 360 km/h (223 mph).

There has been no mention of the pricing, but you probably know how it goes: if you have to ask, you cannot afford it.
