BMW M4 gets a bike racing special

This exclusive BMW M4 CS Edition VR46 is the Bavarian company’s way to say happy birthday to Valentino “The Doctor” Rossi, a motorcycle racer who is currently a part of the BMW M endurance racing team.

The car will emerge in two production batches, Sport and Style, limited to 46 units each. Both will be wearing a livery with Rossi’s starting number 46 on the side and yellow accents. The interiors will be trimmed to the max spec with a special edition plaque on the dash and more yellow highlights. In fact, the only difference between the two batches is the exterior color scheme.

Things stay unmodified under the hood. This isn’t a bad thing, since the M4 CS naturally produces 550 PS (552 hp / 405 kW). It hits 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.4 seconds and can touch 302 km/h (188 mph). BMW mentions suspension adjustments as well, with the springs, sway bars and adaptive shock absorbers all modified for a sportier ride. Last but not least, the wheel camber is different from stock.

All buyers will be getting an invitation to a two-day trip to Valentino Rossi’s private estate in Italy. The trip includes a track day on the Misano World Circuit in Emilia-Romagna.
