Chery has revealed Exeed LX, a reworked version of the Tiggo Coupe Concept, at the ongoing 2018 Beijing Automotive Exhibition.
In comparison to the concept vehicle, the new SUV/coupe has different wheels, lighting and bumpers. The interior remained unchanged, as did the rear “suicide doors” that open against the traffic.
The Chinese automobile manufacturer refused to provide any kind of detailed technical information at the moment. It would be reasonable to assume, however, that the new Chery Exeed LX gets to inherit the autopilot technology of the Tiggo Coupe. Once the autonomous drive mode is activated, the driver can take a break and play a video game sim using the steering wheel as a manipulator.
Everything looks like the car will make it into series sooner or later. SUV/coupe hybrids have been gaining in popularity in China lately, and such local manufacturers as Venucia, Dongfeng and Geely already have similar vehicles in the lineup.
Chery has unveiled two more vehicles during the Auto China 2018, the Arrizo GX sedan and the new Tiggo 8 SUV. Both will be sold in China and beyond.
