Jaguar Type 01 reveals its final production cabin

After getting slammed by critics who didn’t care to see the controversial Type 00 GT on the streets, Jaguar has apparently decided to double down and bring its first-ever EV to the market no matter what. It is slated for premiere on August 16, and you can check out these interior pics in the meantime.

The biggest design detail that catches our eye here is a high-rise console running the entire length of the car, dividing the space inside in four separate passenger cells. The driver’s seat is mounted at an extremely low point to maximize that sporty feel from handling, the company claims. At the same time, the controls don’t look sporty in the slightest – there isn’t a physical button in view, only touch-sensitive panels and surfaces.

The dashboard and the steering wheel bear the new Jaguar logo, which is about as controversial as the rest of the car now that it no longer features a leaping big cat. As for the infotainment display you are probably trying to find here, the company says it is hidden in the front panel and only extends when requested. Whether that’s an example of clean design or just gimmicky is up to you to decide.

Material-wise, we think we can spot natural leather in the trim, some high-end textile, neat brass details, and what appears to be matte plastic at a glance. At any rate, we’ll hopefully see more of it on Sunday, August 16th, and then witness it in its full glory at the NYIAS-2026 starting on October 6th.
