Fabrizio Giugiaro, the original designer of the Lamborghini Gallardo, has reinterpreted the model with a new carbon fiber body. This project, named the CAVËN Atelier HOMMAGE 26, will be limited to 25 examples.
The HOMMAGE 26 features a new body, with only five components carried over from the donor Gallardo: the central roof section, side windows, windscreen, side mirrors, and mirror bases. The design maintains the original identity of the front end, reinterpreting the connection between lights and air intakes with a concealed lighting system. The rear design is distinct, and the interior includes redesigned seats and new graphics.
Under the new body, the donor Gallardo's 5.0-liter naturally aspirated V10 engine has been modified by Italtecnica to rev up to 8,500 rpm, producing 533 bhp in GT specification or 552 bhp in the Performance version. The car also features new active suspension with comfort and sport modes, upgraded brakes, and new 20-inch wheels.
The price for the HOMMAGE 26 is €900,000, excluding the donor Gallardo. This car is reportedly the first in a 'Designer Series' by CAVËN Atelier, which aims to have original creators rework iconic cars for the modern era.
