Car Tuning

How about a Mazda RX-7 rocking a Pagani Zonda V12?

A video went online not long ago showing one of the most interesting exhibits of this year’s SEMA show – a Mazda RX-7 that forfeited its rotary engine to use a V12 taken off a Pagani Zonda instead.

The project was a collaboration between independent designer Kyzyl Saleem a.k.a. The Kyza, tuning company Live to Offend (LTO), and Gooichi Motors. To squeeze the large block from the Italian supercar under the hood of a small coupe, the Gooichi engineering team designed a host of custom parts from scratch, including the oil sump and the manifolds. The hood cover had to be removed and a new, ventilated one ordered for fabrication. As of the date of this video, it still hasn’t arrived, which explains why the car has none.

The engine is 7.3 liters large, but the tuners working on the build haven’t gotten around to measuring its output yet. Installed in a Zonda HP Barchetta, for example, it can make up to 800 PS (789 hp / 588 kW) and 850 Nm (627 lb-ft) of torque.

Kyzyl Saleem was responsible for designing the body kit pieces, which Live to Offend is now producing in small quantities for anyone interested.
