A Discovery minivan? Land Rover says “maybe”

Jaguar Land Rover is seriously considering releasing an off-roading minivan of sorts based on the latest Discovery SUV chassis. It could be a viable option for family recreation, the company argues.

The reason for this weird stylistic mashup may actually be rather simple. With the advent of the new Defender, the Discovery lineup ended up being pretty much redundant and lost most of its sales. To rescue the floundering SUV, the company is looking for ways to make it meaningfully different from the Defender. A family MPV might be one of them.
