Better late than never: Bugatti Chiron gets a cup holder option

The interior of the now-discontinued Bugatti Chiron (see video) notably doesn’t have any niches for putting bottles or cups into as you drive. U.S. resident Shannon Ralston, a mother of twelve, took issue with this lack of practicality and convinced Bugatti’s chief Designer Frank Heyl to whip up an improvised solution.

According to Ralston as quoted by The Drive, she kept spilling sticky sugary drinks in her car due to the missing cup holders. In her complaint post, she mentioned Frank Heyl alongside Mate Rimac, the CEO of the Bugatti-Rimac company, and Alexander “Sasha” Selipanov, the designer who penned the original Chiron.

It took five days for Heyl to come up with a 3D sketch of a cup holder upgrade for Ralston’s hypercar. It looks like a rather basic insert into the car’s door pocket and offers two differently sized niches for drinks. If the mother finds that this accessory solves her first-world problems, it will be 3D printed and shipped to her in January.
