Fully restored Ferrari F40 GMG goes under the hammer for $760,000

A unique 1990 Ferrari F40 sports car, fully restored and brought up to date by Gas Monkey Garage, fetched U.S. $760,000 at an auction that took place yesterday, February 11.

You could have heard about the restoration project if you followed the Fast N’ Loud show on Discovery Channel.

The once-wrecked Ferrari gained a new carbon body sporting an unorthodox black paintjob, Brembo performance brakes, a Tubi Style exhaust system, a Penske Racing muffler and improved turbochargers. It also received Kevlar coupling and transmission elements. As a result, its power output grew to 550 horsepower, or 410 kilowatts.

Rounding off the list of features are 18-inch HRE Performance alloys clad in racing-grade rubber.
