Citroen C4 & С4 X get refreshed for 2025

Citroen has come to the Paris Motor show with an updated C4 model lineup. The sales won’t begin until early 2025, so let’s take a closer look in the meantime.

The front end is completely redesigned and looks more in line with the automaker’s latest design language. It is partly dictated by Citroen’s other recent releases, but the Oli Concept was obviously the main influence. The headlights, the bumpers, the grilles and the wheels sized up to 18 inches in diameter are all new. The non-X C4 model also sports a revised rear.

Inside, the biggest improvement comes in the form of better-padded, more comfortable seats. The company claims it added 15 mm (0.6 inches) of damping materials all around and redistributed them so as to guarantee optimal thickness. Other than that, the base trim gets you a 7-inch high-definition dash display and a 10-inch multimedia screen with support for most wireless protocols.

Depending on the market, the new X4 and C4 X will be available with non-electrified ICE engines, as hybrids, and as pure EVs. The basic engines will deliver between 100 and 136 PS (99–134 hp; 75–100 kW). The EVs will offer 150 and 156 PS (148 and 154 hp; 110 and 115 kW) and run up to 425 km (264 miles) on a single charge. Select countries will also get a 1.2-liter turbo version with an eight-speed automatic transmission and 130 PS (128 hp / 96 kW) at its disposal.
