Porsche 911 evolves into a record-breaking 900-PS supercar

UK-based tuning company RML Group has unveiled its latest creation, the P39 40SE. IT is based on the latest Porsche 911 Turbo S but looks completely different and commands 900 PS (888 hp / 662 kW). Only 10 such racers will be built and offered starting from £495,000, donor car not included.

Upgraded turbos, a new ECU and a custom exhaust system will drive the output of the stock 3.7-liter flat-six engine up by 250 horsepower. The torque will simultaneously gain 200 Nm for a total of 1,000 Nm (738 lb-ft). Tuned like this, the 911 will hit 60 miles per hour (96.6 km/h) 0.2 seconds faster than stock and reach 100 mph (160 km/h) 0.8 seconds faster – in mere 4.5 seconds, to be exact.

It’s not all about the specs, either. The body will be produced from scratch with new, bulkier bumpers, flared fenders and an elongated rear end with a large wing on top. The result is 170 mm (6.64 in) longer than the original, 90 mm (3.52 in) wider and has 15 mm (0.6 in) of added wheelbase.

RML Group claims that the aero kit generates 923 kilos (2,035 pounds) of downforce at 295 km/h (183 mph). That’s more than four times as effective as the stock kit. The suspension benefits from adaptive shock absorbers and hydraulic components, enabling drivers to adjust the clearance for a more comfortable ride on the street.

To highlight how serious the build is, RML Group says it expects it to run a Nürburgring lap in 6 minutes 45 seconds. If it does, it will surpass the stock Turbo S model by 45 seconds and even pull ahead of the track-focused 911 GT3 RS, if only by four seconds.
