Cupra Leon goes electric
The next generation of the Cupra Leon will get an electric powertrain option, according to reports.
It will allegedly be based on Volkswagen’s SSP architecture and arrive in a few years. The traditional ICE hatchback (shown in the gallery here) will continue to be made until at least the end of the decade, so the two will be available side-by-side for a while.
Volkswagen expects its next Golf lineup – also based on the SSP chassis – to follow the same electrification plan.
