Aston Martin stays committed to V12 and manual

Adrian Hallmark, CEO of Aston Martin, believes that there is still room in the company’s lineup for V12-powered, manual-transmission supercars.

He admitted that, while manual vs. automatic is largely a choice that automakers are free to make for themselves, continued use of twelve-cylinder engines is more problematic. Unless the European Union reconsiders its plans regarding new emission laws, all V12 cars will have no other choice but to leave production by 2028.

Hallmark also let it slip that he liked Porsche’s successful strategy of focusing on just one sports car model and releasing various modifications of it instead of developing all-new models. According to him, Aston Martin would be wise to follow the Stuttgart company’s example.
