New Audi A6 Avant bows with specs and pricing

Shortly after revealing the battery-powered A6 e-tron, Audi has now shown the next-gen A6 Avant. It will be available for ordering shortly starting from €58,000.

The new wagon is 4,990 mm (195 inches) long with a wheelbase of 2,927 mm (114.4 inches). The trunk volume goes from 503 to 1,534 liters (17.76–54.17 cubic feet) if you fold down the seats.

In its most basic trim, the new A6 Avant will be available with a 2.0-liter petrol engine and a same-volume diesel. Both receive assistance from a 48V starter-generator and produce 204 PS (201 hp / 150 kW) at most. The torque amounts to 340 Nm (251 lb-ft) for the gas version and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) for the diesel, which is the only one of the two to support optional AWD. Sprint times range from 7.0 to 8.3 seconds, and the speed ceiling is at 240 km/h (149 mph).

The top spec makes use of a 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine good for 367 PS (362 hp / 270 kW) and 550 Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque. It sprints to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.7 seconds and can reach 250 km/h (155 mph).

Options include adaptive air suspension, quattro sport differential and four-wheel steering with a 5-degree maximum turn angle for the rear wheels. The interior houses a 14.5-inch infotainment display and an 11.9-inch digital dashboard as standard, but you can throw in a 10.9-inch screen for the front passenger. There is also a four-zone climate control system and a panoramic glass roof composed of multiple individually dimmable sections.
