The Bavarian automaker has once again expanded its scope of cooperation with Toyota to make hydrogen vehicles a common sight in several years.
The two companies have been conducting research and development in this area since 2013, so both have a fair bit of expertise. The BMW iX5 Hydrogen that came out in a small production series ran on Toyota fuel cells, too.
The German automaker’s new strategy envisions hydrogen vehicles becoming an integral part of its product lineup. Furthermore, BMW sees the potential to give them the longest driving range between refuels – even more than the current hybrids are capable of.
