Ford says it can bring back the ST & RS, but not as you expect

According to Jan Herzog, Head of Product Marketing at Ford Europe, the company has been considering a revival of its “hot” car lineups ST and RS. Don’t get your hopes up, though – it’s not what it seems.

According to Herzog, these cars definitely won’t be gas-powered – especially not in Europe. If Ford does decide to recycle the ST and RS nameplates from the past, it will put them on pure battery-electric vehicles.

This is sad news for those who wanted to see an actual resurrection of these sporty lineups. Right now, Ford is still offering its Focus ST and Puma ST in Europe, but both are on their way out.
