Genesis’ long-anticipated GV90 is coming for Cullinan clientele

The much-hyped luxury crossover will reach the South Korean market in September and later go on sale in Europe and North America as well. All prices are pending, but it’s safe to expect it to undercut the Bentley Bentayga and the Rolls-Royce Cullinan while aspiring to compete in the same niche.

As we mentioned before, the new flagship of the Genesis lineup takes strongly after the Neolun Concept dating back to 2024. It has rear-hinged “suicide doors”, an elegant and clean exterior, and an especially robust integrated safety cage to compensate for the missing b-pillars. It comes in at 5,285 mm (208 inches) long with 3,245 mm (127.8 inches) of wheelbase.

Genesis uses generous amounts of natural wood, leather, cashmere wool and even natural stone details for the interior trim. The base version of the SUV is a three-row seven-seater with a bench for three in the back. The top version ditches that layout for just four total seats. In addition to the usual amenities, these come with 12 “smart” airbags that track the number and positions of passengers inside to calculate exactly when and how to inflate in the event of accident.

The equipment list is quite extensive. Among other things, the company mentions a 24.6-inch main display, a 25-inch HUD and the latest Pleos Connect infotainment system taking advantage of advanced AI features. A 25-speaker high-end audio setup from Bang&Olufsen is also included.

As a fully electric vehicle, the Genesis GV90 utilizes two motors to send a combined 666 PS (657 hp / 490 kW) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque to the wheels. Once fully charged, the battery is good for 500 kilometers (310 miles) of range. Charging from 10 to 80 percent full takes 22 minutes given a 350kW source.

Before the sales begin in full, a First Edition spec will be offered with exclusive 24-inch wheels and multiple two-tone paint options for the exterior. Genesis has yet to supply full details.
