Car Tuning
Hennessey Performance has accomplished something not many of us thought possible. Working with its own record-breaking Venom F5 supercar, it has somehow convinced it to go even faster.
As one would expect, substantial modifications had to be made to the stock 6.6-liter twin-turbo V8. It ended up with larger turbos, new oval cylinders, aluminum connecting rods, titanium exhaust valves, high-flow injectors and lightweight valve caps. To ensure no stone is unturned, Hennessey also refreshed the body kit, making it sharper and sportier than ever.
The result is a power increase from the original 1,842 PS (1,817 hp / 1,355 kW) to 2,059 PS (2,031 hp / 1,514 kW) and a torque bump from 1,617 Nm (1,193 lb-ft) to 1,959 Nm (1,445 lb-ft). The tuner reckons the car should now go 0-322 km/h (0-200 miles per hour) in 10.3 seconds – faster than any existing street-legal vehicle with an internal combustion engine.
If you want the Evolution package, set aside U.S. $285,000. Hennessey offers it with new cars or as a retrofit for existing Venom F5 models. Aside from that, customers can now order the long-requested Touring package to make daily driving the insane supercar somewhat more tolerable with softer suspension settings and new bucket seats.
The F5 Evo is still running its final pre-production tests, so there will be some time until shipments begin.
