IM LS6 shows interior ahead of debut

Chinese automaker IM Motors has unveiled the interior of its upcoming LS6 crossover facelift. It apparently has two steering wheel options and is expected to reach the China and UK markets this fall, news.china.com reports.

The interior follows a new design language for IM. There is a large rectangular 5K-resolution display in front of the driver that serves as the instrument panel and the infotainment screen at once. A second, 3K display is installed in front of the passenger seat.

According to CarNewsChina, the traditional round steering wheel will be offered by default. Those who would rather get a racing-inspired yoke for greater dash visibility will have to pay extra.

The IM vehicle brand was founded five years ago between SAIC Group and Alibaba, the famous Internet commerce company and holder of such popular marketplace brands as AliExpress and Taobao. Its current product portfolio comprises all-electric sedans L6 and L7 along with their SUV counterparts, LS6 and LS7. The LS6 seen here is going to get a hybrid variant for the first time on record.

According to the certification data revealed thus far, it will utilize a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with 153 PS (151 hp / 113 kW) and a single rear-mounted e-motor with 308 PS (304 hp / 227 kW). A 66-kWh battery pack should give it up to 450 kilometers (280 miles) of all-alectric range, the manufacturer estimates.

The fully electric version will be available in variants ranging from 329 to 670 PS (324–661 hp; 242–493 kW, respectively).

The patent application also mentions the size of the SUV: 4,937 x 1,988 x 1,671 mm with 2,960 mm between the axles. That’s 27 mm (1 inch) longer, but otherwise comparable with the pre-facelift.
