Niutron NV bows in China with specs and pricing info

After revealing the first 3D renderings of its new all-electric crossover called the NV, Chinese automaker Niutron has now officially started pre-sales. Live sales are scheduled to follow in December.

The Niutron NV rides on 20-inch rims as standard and has battery charge indicators on its c-pillars. It offers only two set rows, although the sheer size of the car suggests it could easily accommodate more passengers. The company argues that the extra space goes into ensuring the comfort of everyone inside and providing up to 1,730 liters (61.1 cubic feet) of trunk space.

By default, the crossover SUV uses two electric motors jointly rated at 380 PS (375 hp / 279 kW) and 452 Nm (333 lb-ft) of torque. An 86-kWh traction battery grants it 550 kilometers (342 miles) of CLTC driving range.

As an alternative, Niutron offers the NV in a range-extender hybrid version called the HEV. It utilizes a petrol four-cylinder engine to charge up the batteries for an all-electric drivetrain rated at 367 PS (362 hp / 270 kW) and 526 Nm (388 lb-ft) of torque. On batteries alone, the HEV has 150 km (93 miles) of range, but top up the gas tank and it will cover 1,257 km (781 miles) until running out.
