Lamborghini Huracan Performante owner fined in NYC for loud stock exhaust

New York City has fairly strict laws regarding noise pollution, but slapping an owner of a factory-stock supercar with an $800 fine might be over the top.

According to the statement of the Lamborghini Huracan Performante owner that got fined last week, he received a ticket from the city’s automated system based on noise meters and video cameras. He said he never installed any exhaust mods on the car, so it never should have exceeded the legally allowed exhaust sound volume.

It remains open whether he did anything to provoke this situation, like a burnout. Speed is severely limited in NYC residential districts, so it can take quite an effort to rev up the engine to be loud.
