Avatr 11 goes hybrid in China

The latest Avatr 11 SUV is no longer all-electric – it can now be obtained in China with a range-extender hybrid powertrain starting from 279,900 CNY.

The hybrid goes RWD-only at this moment and commands 314 PS (310 hp / 231 kW), as well as 367 Nm (271 lb-ft) of torque. It uses a 1.5-liter engine rated at 156 PS (154 hp / 115 kW) for power generation and nothing else. A 39-kWh battery on board should yield a fair bit of range even with an empty gas tank.

The Avatr 11 hybrid needs 6.9 seconds to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) from standstill and can cover 225 km (140 miles) in zero-emission mode. Max out the gas tank, and you’ll be looking at 1,065 km (662 miles) of range.

The facelifted EV version is also already on sale, starting from 339,900 CNY. It is now bundled with the bigger 116.8-kWh battery pack and no longer has the smaller 90-kWh option. Buyers can still choose between a single-motor spec with a range of 815 km (506 miles) and a dual-motor one covering 760 km (472 miles) per charge.

The RWD variant is much more powerful than before with 322 PS (318 hp / 237 kW) and 396 Nm (292 lb-ft) at its disposal. The AWD version is slightly less powerful at 547 PS (540 hp / 402 kW), but benefits from a torque increase to 687 Nm (507 lb-ft).
