Rare Skyline stolen from Nissan HQ Down Under

Nissan Australia is looking for an R32 Skyline GT-R coupe missing from its collection in Melbourne. There is still little info about the incident, but the company says it will be grateful for any reports.

The automaker has already contacted police with a search and recovery request. In the meantime, if you happen to know anything about an R32 Nissan Skyline GT-R stolen in Australia on October 9, be sure to get in touch with the company.

The car in question has a special number plate that reads “GTR 091”. It is a reference to the model name and its year of manufacture. Nissan had only imported a hundred or so GT-R models to the southern continent in 1989–1994, the stolen example among them. It is also finished in a rare shade of red, so it shouldn’t be hard to notice.

The company had kept it in its private collection since 2015, occasionally taking it out for local promo events and shows. Rumors indicate that it might currently be valued at 250,000 AUD.

Watch the enclosed video if you need a reminder of what a GT-R model from that era looked and felt like.
