Piëch Mark Zero coupe to debut on March 5, 2019

Piëch – a Swiss car company headed by Tony Piëch, son of VW ex-Chairman of Supervisory Board – announced a year and a half ago that it was working on its first mass-market model. Today, the company released a statement saying that the sports coupe called “Mark Zero” is ready for its Geneva show debut on March 5, 2019.

According to the official press release, the car takes advantage of a brand-new architecture that was developed by a team of 200 industry professionals headed by industrial designer Rea Stark Rajcic. The versatility of the chassis enables it to accept all kinds of powertrains, including gasoline, diesel, hybrid, all-electric and even hydrogen. The Geneva show car will be electrified.

The two-door EV weighs in at around 1,800 kilograms (3,970 lb) and offers up to 500 kilometers (310 miles) of uninterrupted driving.

The company says the sports coupe will likely arrive in 2021, followed by a luxury sedan and an SUV.
