WM Motor Technology Co Ltd, a Chinese car manufacturer known for its Weltmeister brand, is currently working on releasing a new sedan/saloon model running on electric power.
The car comes based on the Maven Concept and should have up to 800 kilometers (500 miles) of driving range according to the somewhat outdated NEDC measurement standard. It consumes 14 kilowatt-hours of power per 100 km traveled on average, and boasts an ultra-low drag ratio of 0.23.
When it debuted, the Maven Concept also featured an SAE Level 3 self-driving system and a technology called V2X, which enabled it to maintain a permanent link to other autonomous cars and the surrounding ‘smart’ road infrastructure. It remains to be announced which of these features will make it into mass production, if any.
The Weltmeister Maven (or whatever it will be called) should hit production next year, and we expect it to say goodbye to the racecar-style steering wheel and the enormous projection display first.
