Design sketches showing a forthcoming Lynk & Co 03 sedan by Volvo and Geely have recently been published online. The vehicles should premiere within the next five months.
The companies revealed the corresponding concept a year ago. Now we may finally have a look at the production vehicle.
The car looks pretty much the same as its concept version, except for the front and rear bumpers. Still, since the pictures show what is allegedly a “sporty” modification of the series, there might be other differences as well.
The new Lynk & Co 03 uses the CMA architecture of the Volvo XC40. It will likely be 4,639 mm (15.22 ft.) long, 1,840 mm (6.04 ft.) wide and 1,460 mm (4.79 ft.) tall with a 2,730 mm (8.96 ft.) wheelbase, but these are only preliminary estimates.
The engine palette remains the same for the entire Lynk & Co family. There is a 1.5L engine with 156 hp (116 kW), another one with 179 hp (133 kW), and a 2.0L turbo with 190 hp (142 kW). All engines are produced by Volvo, run on gasoline and can be coupled with manual, semi-automatic and automatic transmissions. A hybrid-powered Lynk & Co 03 with 250 hp (186 kW) will become available later.
The preliminary options list includes a panoramic roof, leather seat upholstery, digital dashboard, two-zone climate control, adaptive cruise control, and emergency brake.
The prices remain undisclosed. The vehicle should reportedly reach the market in China before the end of the year, followed by a Europe release in 1H 2020.
