Based on Volvo: Lynk & Co launches production of the 03 sedan

Chinese car manufacturer Lynk & Co has started the production of its third car model, named simply the 03. The vehicle utilizes the CMA modular chassis developed in a partnership with Volvo.

The new Chinese sedan features an exclusive headlight design with vertically aligned LEDs, a decorative diffusor and side skirts, large-diameter aluminum wheels, and two exhaust pipes.

According to an unconfirmed source, the new Lynk & Co 03 will ship with a 2.0-liter gasoline engine rated at 190 hp (142 kW). There will also be another, more affordable option: a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with 150 hp (112 kW) at its disposal. Reportedly, the family will later expand to incorporate a hybrid and an all-electric variants of the vehicle.

The new car will celebrate its live debut in Chengdu in the coming September. Customers in Europe won’t be able to order one until at least the fall of 2019.
