Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus, a North American automotive enterprise whose primary specialization is supercars, has revealed an extremely interesting project it’s been working on for some time – a car that could brave mountain heights.
Two vehicle modifications are under development right now: the two-door “Steve” and the four-door “Expedition”. Either would come with the driver’s seat positioned in the middle, automatic gear switching, and on-demand 4WD. Its ground clearance would constitute an impressive 394 millimeters (15.4 inches).
The company plans to begin mass production in about two years, with each vehicle priced at estimated U.S. $100,000.
The current absolute height record scored by a motor vehicle is 6,688 meters above sea level (that’s 21,942 ft. for those who prefer Imperial units). It was achieved by a 1986 Suzuki Samurai in 2007. Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus doesn’t provide any ETAs on just when their SUV may finally beat that one.
